KLM to End Complimentary Beer and Wine in Economy Class

Starting in October, KLM will end its complimentary beer and wine service in economy class on European flights. Under the new “Grand Café KLM” concept, the airline will give passengers the option to order a hot meal before their flight and to purchase food and drinks from a paid menu on board.
Coffee, tea, orange juice and a small Dutch stroopwafel will continue to be offered free of charge under the new arrangement. Bas Gerressen, KLM’s Vice President of Service, said the change would give passengers more choice and flexibility.
